Frame Your Moment: Enter the 2023 K12 Photography Competition
Calling all students from kindergarten to twelfth grade, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of the 2023 K12 Photography Contest!
The K12 photography contest is back with bigger and better opportunities to bring your visions to life, registration opens on August 17th.
This year we are introducing three unique categories that cater to your unique photography style: DSLR, film, and smartphone. We want you to utilize the best of your skills and equipment, be it your trusted DSLR, the nostalgic film camera, or the modern smartphone – we have a category for you!

DSLR
Digital SLR cameras have long been the professional photographer’s go-to tool. With advanced features to help create high image quality, DSLR cameras provide the flexibility to capture the world as you see it. We want you to let your creativity flow. Perhaps a bustling cityscape, a serene sunset, or a candid portrait of a friend – capture it with your DSLR and bring your unique vision to the 2023 K12 Photography Contest.
Film
In the age of digital revolution, film photography holds a timeless charm that truly stands apart. The aesthetic feel of grain, the vibrant colors, and the element of surprise can bring a sense of magic to your images. We’re encouraging film photographers to showcase their best work, celebrating the nostalgia and artistic flair of film photography. We can’t wait to see the results!
Smartphone
Smartphones are great for so much more than staying connected; they are a pocket-sized force of photography. With advancements in technology, smartphones like the iPhone and Android give everyone the opportunity to become a photographer. You don’t need to carry bulky equipment or understand complex settings to take a great picture, you just need to pull out your smartphone! If you have an eye for capturing stunning images taken with your smartphone, enter the 2023 K12 Photography Contest today!
How to Enter
Students in grades kindergarten through twelfth grade are invited to enter. Registration is open from August 8th through October 16th. You may submit up to one entry in each category, so choose your images carefully. Your submissions should represent your passion for photography, showcase artistic perspectives, and highlight creativity.
Select your best work and submit it through our registration form. After uploading your high-resolution image select the category you wish to enter. It’s as simple as that!
The Prize Package
There will be first, second, and third place winners for each grade band. The winners will receive an exclusive prize package ranging from $1,200 to $400.
Each category will also have one People’s Choice winner that will be determined by public voting. The People’s Choice winner will receive a $500 Amazon gift card.
