The 2024 Photography Competition is now closed and public voting has ended.
We are thrilled to announce the winners of this year’s K12 Photo Competition, showcasing the incredible talent and creativity of students from across the nation.

We’ll reveal the 1st place, 2nd place, and People’s Choice winner in each grade level! Don’t miss this celebration of young artists and their amazing work.
Competition Details
Open to students in grades K–12 whether enrolled at K12-powered schools or any other school in the U.S.
Parents or guardians of students under the age of 13 must submit entries on behalf of their student(s).
All photo entries must be taken by the student during the contest entry period (May 28, 2024–August 26, 2024)
Public voting will happen through the Photo Competition landing page throughout the Judging Period (effective 9 AM (ET) on August 27, 2024, through 5 PM (ET) on September 27, 2024). Any individual will be eligible to vote and will be allowed one vote per day during the voting period.
There is no limit to the number of photographs a student can enter.
AI-generated photos are not eligible.

Judging Criteria
Impact and Storytelling (50%)
Judges assess the photo’s ability to captivate and convey a story or emotion. Does it have a clear focal point? Does it evoke feelings or spark curiosity? A compelling photo that engages viewers and tells a story would score high in this category.
Creativity and Composition (25%)
Judges consider artistic elements, including composition, framing, and visual balance. Is the photo well-composed? Does it demonstrate creative use of angles, lines, and perspective?
Technical Proficiency (25%)
Judges evaluate technical aspects such as exposure, focus, and sharpness. Is the photo properly exposed? Are details clear and well-defined? A photograph demonstrating technical proficiency, characterized by good lighting and focus, would receive a high score in this category.
