Who can get REEL?
All currently enrolled K12‑powered students in grades K–12 are eligible to enter.
(Parents or guardians must enter on behalf of students under 13.)
How to Enter
1. Record a Short Video (30–60 seconds)
Tell us why online school is the perfect fit for you. Maybe it’s the cozy PJs, the flexible schedule, or the peace of mind that comes with learning at home. Keep it authentic, clear, and FUN!
Videos should be filmed vertically (9:16 format), similar to a Reel or TikTok-style video.
Need ideas?
- What made your family choose K12-powered online schooling
- How has K12 changed your daily life?
- What do you LOVE most about K12/learning from home?
- How has your family supported you in online school?
- What are some unique ways your family gets involved in your schooling?
- Why does K12 “work” for you?
- What is a moment you felt proud of in your K12-powered experience?
- If you were talking to another student thinking about enrolling in a K12 school, what would you tell them?
2. Submit your video by June 30.
Complete the registration form and upload your video.
3. Encourage your fan club to vote!
Public voting for the People’s Choice award is July 2–22, 2026. Share your entry link with family and friends and get them cheering you on!
Video Guidelines
Your video entry should:
Be 30–60 seconds long
Be filmed vertically (9:16)
Ensure that the subject of each shot is clearly visible and centered in the frame
Highlight your personality and interests
Clearly show your face (no hiding!)
Wear school- or work-appropriate clothing
Show us your learning space (optional but encouraged!
Your video entry should not:
Include your last name (first names only for yourself and other students—teachers’ last names are okay)
Show logos other than K12 or your school
Include anyone without their written permission
Use AI for any part of your video
Judging & Prizes
How Entries Are Judged
Creativity: 50%
Original ideas, engaging storytelling, and unique presentation.
Authenticity: 25%
Real stories. Real voice. Genuine experience.
Technical Proficiency: 25%
Clear filming, smooth editing, and strong overall presentation.
Prizes
A 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place winner will be selected by a panel of judges for each grade band (K–2, 3–5, 6–8, 9–12). That’s 12 total winners!
One People’s Choice winner will be selected for each grade band (K–2, 3–5, 6–8, 9–12) for a total of 4 winners.
