Welcome to Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary

There’s a unique place in Ravenna, Ohio where farm animals happily roam and are cared for by friendly faces. This is the Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary, a haven for farm animals who were in tough situations and needed a second chance.

Through their mission of rescue, rehabilitation, and re-home, Happy Trails has become a beacon of hope for farm animals big and small. The sanctuary is home to different farm animals including horses, pigs, goats, sheep, alpacas, and feathered friends.

The Happy Trails Farm is a sanctuary where farm animals can live happy healthy lives. Essentially, the sanctuary works to rehome animals into loving environments whenever possible, while providing outstanding care for each resident. For animals not strong to leave, Happy Trails offers them a fur-ever home where they can live out their days with tons of love.

With over 94% of their funds already raised for their new Education and Welcome Center, the sanctuary is dedicated to expanding its outreach. Part of their mission is ensuring as many people as possible learn about the importance of kindness and compassion.

Why Sanctuaries Matter

Happy Trails is not a petting zoo or a typical farm, it’s more like a cozy retirement home for animals who need a fresh start. Sanctuaries play a big role in promoting education, environmental awareness, and empathy.

Here are just a few reasons why sanctuaries like Happy Trails are important:

  • Promoting Compassion: Sanctuaries help us see what makes each animal special. For instance, meeting a pig like Panda, who loves to take walks in the forest and comes to you when she is called, breaks down stereotypes of farm animals and helps foster empathy.
  • Educating the Public: Sanctuaries teach us how to treat animals with respect and kindness.
  • Building Community: Places like Happy Trails bring people together over a common goal of improving the lives of animals and creating a kinder world.

Visiting or even learning about a sanctuary like Happy Trails can leave a lasting impression on children and adults alike. It encourages them to take steps to towards compassion living.
