Celebrating Team Hello Kitty’s Robotics Journey

The 2025 season of K12 Robotics League may have wrapped up in June, but Team Hello Kitty kept the momentum going. Competing in the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) USA National Championships, they earned another invitation to compete on a global stage.

After being named the 10-12 grade 2025 K12 Robotics League Champions, Team Hello Kitty began preparing for their next competition in Ontario, California.

The stakes were high this year, but Team Hello Kitty returned stronger than ever. Eager to make their mark in the robotics world.

Fresh Team. Fierce Energy

Throughout the K12 Robotics League, Team Hello Kitty consisted of members Ayibatari, a 10th grade OVCA student and Krista, an 11thgrade OVCA student. Team Hello Kitty revised their team for the WRO National Championship by adding Jason, a 10th grade student from the Keystone School.

Once again, leading Team Hello Kity to the WRO Champions was coach and OVCA teacher, Phil Przybylo.

Holding Their Own on a Bigger Stage

Team Hello Kitty competed in the WRO USA National Championships against a strong and advanced field. On day 1, they scored over 100 points in multiple rounds, including a standout 125-point round!

On day 2, Team Hello Kitty was in 4th place. They were just one spot away from qualifying for the World Championships in Singapore!

Earning their Place in Gold

Despite not qualifying for the Worlds, Team Hello Kitty earned a gold medal for their high-scoring round. And, most importantly gained recognition as equals among competitors.

Fueling Up for What’s Next

Team captain Krista plans to attend the US Open in Chicago in August. Joining her may be another teammate, and they’ll be coached by Krista’s mom, Amanda.

Regardless, of their outcome in Chicago, Team Hello Kitty is invited to compete in the WRO Open Championship for the Americas in Panama in October 2025.

Proving What’s Possible

We’re so proud of everything the Team Hello Kitty has accomplished, and we can’t wait to see where their robotics success takes them next.

From virtual qualifiers, to competing on a national stage, to competing on global stages; Team Hello Kitty is showing what’s possible when determination and innovation collide.

Are you Ready to Compete?

The next season of the K12 Robotics League launches September 3, 2025. All students in grades 4-12 are eligible to participate. Students will compete in grade divisions (4-6, 7-9, and 10-12) and in teams of 1-3.

The K12 Robotics League is an approachable and affordable path to robotics and STEM. Through three virtual rounds and an in-person final, it’s a fantastic way for students to gain valuable interpersonal and STEM skills.

Registration for the K12 Robotics Legue is open from September 3 – November 12, 2025. Visit https://enrichment.k12.com/robotics-competition/ to learn more and register for your spot.
