Have you ever wondered what it takes to care of rescued farm animals?
During a special K12 Virtual Field Trip to the Luvin Arms Animal Sanctuary, in Erie, Colorado. Students had a behind the scenes look at a place where farm animals are given a second chance. From colorful cows to clucking chickens, to excited goats, each animals has a unique story and personality all their own.
What Students Experienced
Throughout the session, students explored how these animals are cared for each day. We learned about what they eat, how they interact, and what makes them unique. Students also listened to real stories and learned how sanctuaries, like Luvin Arms, provide safe and supportive environments for animals who have come from difficult situations.
K12 Virtual Field Trips like this often include meeting individual animals. Plus, learning rescue stories in real time. This creates a meaningful and engaging experience for students and families.
As students moved through the virtual session, they got to see what daily life looks like at the sanctuary. From feeding routines to how animals play and interact with each other. The Luvin Arms team also shared how each animal has their own story and personality, making it clear that no two animals are exactly alike.

- Meeting rescued cows, pigs, and goats
- Watching Dezi, a resident goat, riding a skateboard
- Learning what different animals eat and how their diets are managed
- Hearing how animals are rescued and brought to the sanctuary
- Seeing how caregivers bond with the animals
